A picnic ready, car packed, setting off, for a sail up the coast (a drive along the Antrim Coast Road). Picnics were a staple part of the weekly menu, from Spring right through to early Autumn, when we could mix our favourite food to go with the stunning coastline of the Antrim Coast Road and Glens.
Fresh and sliced, hard boiled eggs helped fill the floury baps from the bakery, cushioned by, yes you guessed it, locally grown lettuce, scallions and tomatoes, plain or salad cream? Each to their own.
Now the objective for the day, stop at the best view point and picnic table on the Antrim Coast Road (there’s over 25miles worth to pick from), be sheltered from the wind, eat up while the rain is off and nosey at what everyone else is eating!
